We like to poke fun at the entertaining things in Israel, but it’s times like these that make me proud to be here. Every year the country comes together to practice a moment of silence in remembrance of the Holocaust victims. A siren is heard throughout the country where everyone stands at attention to honor those fallen in the Holocaust. The video is a clip of a busy Tel Aviv street during the siren. Even drivers exit their cars and stand at attention to respect the victims of the Holocaust.
May the victims and survivors of the Holocaust never be forgotten.

This is not a thing that *just* happens in Israel. Every May 4th in Holland, there are two minutes of silence (no sirens, no sound) at 20.00 in the evening. It’s Holocaust remembrance day. On May 5, we then celebrate the “Bevrijding”, liberation.
The Israeli tradition even threw me off once. It was the first time it was here, and I figured the sirens were a warning for the silence to start. So I was busy, doing my thing, waiting for the sirens to end, and then I stood up. Everyone in the office was looking at me funny, until I explained the Dutch tradition and they understood no disrespect was meant.

This was interesting, but you did not show the next part how the cars probably started honking for all the cars to move already.
In Israel everyone is impatient they honk before the green light so the cars move the second its green.
